The Innovation of Medical and Healthcare Technologies from NCKU Caught Visitors' Attention in Medical Fair Thailand 2019
The Medical Fair Thailand 2019, the leading trade fair for the medical and healthcare industry in Southeast Asian, was held at the Bangkok International Trade Exhibition Center from September 11th to 13th. In order to establish the international network and expand the R&D results to the Southeast Asian market, GLORIA NCKU went to Thailand with four teams and one corporate member. Innovative technologies from NCKU have attracted the interest of many international industry players, and they will keep in touch for future industry-university cooperation.
Medical Fair Thailand is a biennial exhibition continues to grow from strength to strength as Southeast Asia’s most international platform for the medical and healthcare industry. Focused on equipment and supplies for the hospital, diagnostic, pharmaceutical, medical and rehabilitation sectors and provides visitors with the best business opportunities to navigate the dynamic marketplace of Thailand and Southeast Asia. The exhibitors and professionals are from all over the world, including Thailand, Singapore, Taiwan, China, Japan, Australia, North America and the Middle East, the European Union and so on. There are nearly thousand national exhibitors, and 21 national pavilions, exhibiting more than ten thousand advanced medical products.
Meet Tec Co., Ltd., a start-up company supported by NCKU, is a technology supplier for novel multi-function membrane with unique coating process on different materials such as plastic, paper and metals. With single membrane coating, product can be endowed with multi-function to enhance the valuable and competitiveness. EZsignal Biotech Co., Ltd. is a startup company under the support of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and NCKU. It mainly develops products related to the "Smart Mobile Rapid Detection System for In Vitro Diagnostic Test Reagents", including immunoassay analyzer for professional use and App detection systems for home healthcare.
The smart exercise system, consists of the IoT exercise machines, exergame, and user interface, is exhibited by the MDIC in NCKU. A customerized exercise prescription was performed by an algorithm and the user exercised directly without setting the manipulator after personal identification. Highlights also included the world’s first dengue virus serotyping rapid test by Eternal Materials, which can help doctors obtain the information of virus serotype less than 30 minutes, effectively contributing to early diagnosis and medical treatment suggestions.
In this trade show, the technology and products exhibited by NCKU attracted plenty visitors from manufacturers, researchers and related practitioners, which will help NCKU expand its industry, study and research community in Southeast Asia. GLORIA NCKU will connect these international manufacturers to provide more comprehensive understanding of medical devices technology from NCKU. GLORIA NCKU assists the modern industries and academic institutions to establish an industry-academia collaboration so that the application of smart technologies in the medical industry can be further expanded to enhance the economic value of modern technologies.
