As an important driving factor for industrial upgrading in Taiwan, the green innovation and circular economy are both important issues under the global energy transition. On the 10th day of this month, GLORIA NCKU held the latest forum of "2019 Developmental Trend and Opportunities for Smart Green Energy, Energy Conservation and Circulation Economy" at Zenda Suites, where representatives from industry, government, and academic circles were invited to share their practical experience on the circular economy.
Dean of Research and Development Xie Sunyuan pointed out that NCKU is developing towards the 3 main directions of smart technology, energy technology, and medical biotechnology in the medium-range school development plan. In response to the Higher Education Deep Plowing Project, NCKU has established two major program centers of Energy Technology and Strategy Research Center and Hierarchical Green-Energy Materials Research Center. Furthermore, in conjunction with the Green Energy Technology R&D Project of Ministry of Science and Technology, NCKU has received a project funding of NT$ 94 million which pushes NCKU to the top of Taiwan.
Hong Wei-ren, Chief Operating Officer of NCKU GLORIA, pointed out that since its establishment two years ago, NCKU Global Research & Industry Alliance has actively developed towards the three major directions of green energy technology, smart technology, and medical biotechnology to assist with the communication platform between NCKU and the industry. For example, the exchange forum of "Development Trend and Opportunities for Smart Hospitals" and the latest forum of "2019 Developmental Trend and Opportunities for Smart Green Energy, Energy Conservation and Circulation Economy" were held with an attempt to integrate the joint efforts of the industry, government, and academic circles to enhance the advantage of industrial development.
During the forum of "2019 Developmental Trend and Opportunities for Smart Green Energy, Energy Conservation and Circulation Economy", C-Hub Chief Executive Officer Liu Yu-ren is invited to deliver an opening speech on the industry practice of circular materials and system designs. Other than that, Wang Jian-bin, Associate Dean of Commerce Development Research Institute also delivered a speech on the business models of green energy and circular economy.
In the second half of the event, a total of 3 companies Delta Electronics, KSG, and C-LiFe Technologies discussed and exchanged ideas on smart streetlights, green energy transportation, lithium iron phosphate battery, and green energy R&D applications.
